Swami Vivekanand Government Model School

Khandar is a small place, and being here at Swami Vivekanand Government Model School feels different than being in a big city school. We are right here in Sawai Madhopur, zip code 322025. Every morning, I get here a bit before the kids start trickling in. The road is usually quiet that early, maybe a few tractors go by. The building is what it is, nothing too fancy, but it does the job. We spend a lot of time just keeping things organized. Someone is always fixing a chair or moving a cupboard. The kids come from all around the area, and they bring a lot of energy. Sometimes it’s a bit much, especially when it gets hot in the afternoon. Sawai Madhopur heat is no joke. We don't have all the bells and whistles you see on TV, but we have enough. There’s a lot of paperwork, which nobody really likes, but that’s part of running a school in Khandar. We see the same faces every day, and after a while, you just get into a rhythm. The teachers talk about their day in the staff room, mostly just normal stuff like what's for lunch or how the commute was. It’s just a regular place where we try to get through the lessons without too much fuss. By the time the final bell rings, everyone is pretty tired and ready to head home. That’s just how it goes here.
