New Bharat General Store

Our shop is located near Union Bajariya in Sawai Madhopur, specifically in the M. P. Colony area. New Bharat General Store has been a part of this neighborhood for a while now. We sell the usual things people need for their houses. This includes tea leaves, sugar, and various snacks. The storefront is quite simple. We usually have a few crates of soda stacked near the entrance. Inside, it’s a bit dark because the building is old. We have enough lights to see the labels on the jars though. We spend a lot of time talking to the regulars who come in every day for their milk or bread. It’s more than just selling things. It’s about knowing what’s happening in the colony. Sometimes kids come in with a few coins looking for candy. We have to help them choose from the jars on the counter. The shelves are made of wood. They've started to sag a bit under the weight of the flour bags. Sawai Madhopur gets really hot in the summer. We keep the doors open to catch any breeze, even if it brings in some dust from the road outside. We don't have a computer for billing. There is just a simple notebook where we write everything down. It’s a slow pace of life, but it suits us just fine. We just try to make sure we don't run out of the basics that everyone relies on for their daily meals.
