We are over here in Sawai Madhopur, right behind the collectorate building in Mantown. It’s a busy spot in Agrasen Colony. Being a CA firm means our desks are usually covered in files and folders that need sorting. We’ve been at Plot No.3 for a while now. Most days it’s just us drinking tea and looking through tax papers or GST filings for people around town. It’s not fancy work, but it needs to get done properly so nobody gets in trouble with the department. The walk to the office is nice, especially when the weather isn’t too hot. We know most of the shopkeepers and families nearby. People just drop in when they have a notice or need help with their returns. Sometimes the internet is slow or the portal acts up, which is a bit of a headache, but we manage. We aren’t a big corporate office with glass walls; it’s more of a practical place where we keep the calculators running. Usually, the phone rings quite a bit during the end of the financial year. That’s when things get really hectic and we stay back late to finish the audit work. We try to keep things simple for everyone who walks through our door. It’s just about getting the numbers right and making sure the records are in order. Sawai Madhopur is a small place in some ways, so word travels fast if you do a decent job.
