Sondex Heat Exhanger India Pvt. Ltd is located at Plot No. E-1 in the G.I.D.C. Estate. Being at E-1 means we are right at the beginning of the block, which makes it easy for the trucks to find us. It is a large unit because we deal with heat exchangers which take up quite a bit of room on the shop floor. There is always the sound of metal hitting metal and the steady hum of the welding machines throughout the day. It is a hot and heavy kind of workplace, especially in the summer. We don't have air conditioning in the main shop, only in the tiny office where the files and ledgers are kept. The guys on the floor are the real heart of the place and they know their way around the heavy equipment. They don't need much supervision to get things right. We don't have any polished brochures or fancy digital presentations for visitors. If you want to see what we do, you just have to walk out onto the floor and watch us work. It is a bit messy with scraps of metal and spare parts everywhere, but there is a system to it that we all understand. We take our work seriously but we don't act like a big corporation with lots of rules. We are just a manufacturing unit trying to build things that last for a long time. The trucks come in and out all day long, carrying big units out to customers who need them for their own factories.
