Tajas & Co.

Tajas & Co. is located in the Main Bazar of S. Kundla. It is a typical market shop where we deal with a bit of everything that the local people need. The street outside is usually full of cows, bikes, and people carrying bags of groceries. We open up the shop early in the morning, pulling up the heavy metal shutter and sweeping the front step. The interior is lined with wooden shelves that have been there for decades, and they are starting to sag a bit under the weight of the stock. We spend a lot of time talking to the neighbors and the other shopkeepers while we wait for customers. It is a slow pace of life here in Kundla, and we don't try to rush things. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a few hours, and we just sit in the doorway and wait for it to come back on. We keep our records in big ledgers with handwritten notes because that is how we have always done it. There is nothing modern about the way we run things; it is just a plain, honest business in the middle of the bazar. We know most of our customers by their first names and usually end up talking about the weather or the local news while we weigh out their orders. It is just a regular life.
