Svt Earth Movers is based out of 34, Sivakasi Main Road. We are in Mettamalai Village, which is a place we’ve called home for a long time. The office is right there on the main road, so it’s easy to spot the machinery parked up. Sivakasi is known for being a hardworking area, and we fit right in with that. We have a few excavators and some other heavy gear that we keep ready for whenever a call comes in. My brothers and I handle everything from the maintenance to the billing. It’s a small village operation, so we don't have any of those fancy computer systems. Everything is written down in big books. The heat in Mettamalai can be pretty intense, so we do most of our heavy lifting in the early morning or late evening. The dust from the Sivakasi Main Road is constant, but you get used to it after a while. We’ve been at number 34 for years, and the neighbors are all like family to us. We don't spend money on big ads; we just rely on people seeing our work around the village. If a machine breaks down, we’re out there in the dirt fixing it ourselves. It’s a tough way to make a living, but it’s what we know. We just focus on keeping the gear moving and helping out with the local construction.
