Siddharth Motors sits right on the edge of Pateri Chowk, right along the NH-75 in Satna. If you are driving towards the south side of Pateri, you will see us not too far from the fire station. Being so close to the highway means there is always a layer of dust on everything, no matter how much we try to sweep it out. The sound of heavy trucks rolling by is something we have just gotten used to over the years. We spend most of our time under the hoods of cars or lying on creepers on the floor. It’s a bit of a messy job, but someone has to do it. The shop is usually full of spare parts, old tires, and the smell of engine oil. We don't really do anything fancy here. We just fix what is broken. Sometimes it takes a bit longer if we are waiting for a specific part to arrive from the city, but we try to keep things moving. The guys working here have been around for a while, and we all know each other's ways. When the fire station siren goes off, everything stops for a second, then we just get back to the wrenches. It is a simple life, working with our hands and dealing with the locals who stop by because they trust we won't overcharge them for a simple oil change or a brake check. It is just us and the machines, trying to get people back on the road before the sun goes down for the day.
