Chai Sutta

We are located over by Aks University. It’s a spot where a lot of students hang out between their classes. You can hear them talking about their exams or just joking around. Chai Sutta is a simple setup. We’ve got the stove going most of the day. The smell of tea is everywhere. It’s not a quiet place. There’s always music playing or people shouting to be heard. We don't have fancy furniture. Just some basic stuff where people can sit for a few minutes. The university crowd keeps us on our toes. They come in waves. One minute it’s empty and the next we can’t keep up with the orders. We just keep the kettle full. It’s a lot of washing cups and cleaning up spills. We don’t try to be a high-end cafe. It’s just a place to get a drink and take a break. Sometimes the professors come by too. They look just as tired as the students. We’ve been at this location for a while. The walls have some posters on them that have been there forever. It’s a bit cramped when it rains because everyone tries to get inside at once. But we manage. It’s a good way to spend the day, seeing all these young people. We just keep the tea hot and the sugar ready for whoever walks in.
