Shree Hospital

Shree Hospital is located in Umbraj which is part of the Karad taluka in Satara. Being in a place like Satara means we see a lot of people from the nearby villages and the town itself. Umbraj is a good central spot for us to be. We have a fairly routine way of doing things. We arrive early and start the day by getting the water ready and checking the list of who we expect to see. The hospital is a plain building. We don’t have much in the way of fancy signs or big glass windows. It’s more about having a solid place where people can come. The rooms are simple with just the basic furniture and medical tools. We spend a lot of time talking to people about their families while we do our jobs. In a small area like Karad word travels fast so people usually know where we are without needing a map. We have a few staff members who have been with us since the beginning. We eat together and talk about what’s happening in the local news. The pace here is a bit slower than the city but it still feels fast when there are many people waiting. We just do what needs to be done and try to keep things tidy. It’s just a local hospital in Umbraj where we do our best to stay organized. Most days we are just busy with the small things that keep the doors open.
