SHIVSAMARTH MULTIPURPOSE SAHAKAR NIDHI LIMITED

Down here in Patan, specifically at the post in Saikade, you will find us at Janardhan Botre’s place. It’s a bit of a trek if you aren't from the Satara district, but for the locals, it's just a regular stop. We run Shivsamarth Multipurpose Sahakar Nidhi Limited out of this office. It is mostly just desks, chairs, and a lot of ledger books stacked on the shelves. The air out here is a lot cleaner than in the big cities. We start early in the morning before it gets too hot. Farmers and small shop owners from Saikade come by to chat and handle their money matters. We don't have any of those fancy digital screens on the walls. Just a calendar and maybe a picture or two. The floor is concrete and we sweep it out every morning. Janardhan is usually around to say hello to everyone. It’s a community thing more than anything else. When the rain comes down hard, the roof makes a lot of noise, but we just talk louder. We spend a lot of time double-checking numbers by hand. It keeps our minds sharp. Sometimes we run out of ink or paper and someone has to go into town to get more. It is a simple life here. We just focus on keeping everyone's records straight and making sure the doors stay open for whoever needs us. It's a small village operation and we like it that way.
