Shalan Tea Manufacturing Llp is located over in the MIDC area of Kodali. We are right near the Shivraj Pump, which is a good landmark because people always get lost trying to find Sutar Colony. It is an industrial spot, so there is always the sound of machines or trucks moving around. We spend most of our time on the floor, dealing with the actual manufacturing side of things. It’s dusty and loud sometimes, but it is where the work happens. Being at 14 Parnkuti, we have enough space for what we need to do. We aren't a big fancy outfit with a glass front office. Most of us wear regular clothes and get our hands dirty when we have to. The tea comes in and we process it. That’s the long and short of it. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. We know the other folks working in the neighboring units. We share tea—not always ours—and talk about the day. It’s a practical way to live. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to write pretty words for us. We just make the tea and sell it to people who want it. Our address is easy to find if you know where the pump is. We’ve been here for a bit and plan to stay for as long as we can keep the machines running and the bills paid.
