Sanraj Minerals Co. is situated on Yellur Road in Vadgaon, Belgaum. It is a bit of an open space here because of the kind of stuff we handle. There is a lot of dust and grit around because that is just the nature of minerals. We have a yard where the trucks come in and out all day. It gets quite hot under the Belgaum sun so we try to get the heavy work done early in the morning. The office is just a small shack on the edge of the property where we keep the logs and the scales. It isn't very comfortable but it gets the job done. We spend a lot of time checking the weights and making sure the piles are sorted correctly. Most of us have been working here for a long time so we know the routine by heart. There is always a layer of fine powder on everything, even the chairs in the office. We just wipe it off and keep going. Yellur Road is a main path for transport so we see a lot of different drivers passing through. We usually have a big jug of water sitting in the shade for whoever needs it. It is tough work and it wears out your boots pretty fast. We don't bother with uniforms or anything like that. We just wear what is comfortable and doesn't mind getting dirty. Sanraj Minerals Co. is just a hard-working spot in Vadgaon.
