Samruddhi Pharmaceuticals

Our place is in Wai Taluka, right near the Bawdhan Naka. It is a nice enough area, though it gets quite busy around the junction during the market days. Samruddhi Pharmaceuticals is where I spend my days. The shop isn't anything special to look at from the outside, but we keep the inside well-stocked with what people need. Being near Wai, we get a mix of people from the town and those coming in from the smaller villages nearby. I usually start the day by sweeping the front step and checking what came in the overnight delivery from the city. There is always a pile of cardboard boxes that need breaking down by the end of the week. The air here feels a bit fresher than in the big cities, which I like. We have a few shelves for general items and then the more serious medicine is kept safely behind the counter. I know most of the people who walk through the door by their first name. We talk about the weather or how the crops are doing while I get their orders ready. It is a slow pace of life compared to Pune, but it suits us. The furniture in the office is a bit worn out, but it is comfortable enough for me. Sometimes my nephew comes in to help with the computer work because I am not very good at it. We just keep doing our thing day after day. (251 words)
