About Samarth Garment – Fashion & Trends in Satara
We are based at P-23 in the Taswade Midc area. It’s a bit of a drive from the main town, but this is where all the factories are. Our space is filled with sewing machines and long tables for cutting fabric. It’s a loud place when all the machines are running at once. We focus on getting through the piles of fabric that come in every week. It’s a lot of repetitive work, stitching the same seams over and over again, but we have a good rhythm going. We’ve been working out of this industrial zone for some time. The mornings start early here before it gets too hot. We have a small crew and we all just put our heads down and work. Sometimes we run out of a certain button or zipper and that slows everything down. We don't have a showroom for people to visit; it’s mostly just a production floor. There are stacks of finished garments in plastic bags waiting to be picked up. We try to keep the place organized, but with so much thread and scrap fabric, it’s a constant battle. It’s honest work and we take it one day at a time. The Midc is a busy place with trucks coming and going, and we are just one part of that. We finish our shifts and head home, then come back and do it again tomorrow. This is our daily routine.
