Saidatta Steel

Started the yard here on Nh 4 some years back. It’s right on the Satara Lonand Road, so we get a lot of trucks passing by all day. Being near the Z.P. School in Khed Wadhe means things get pretty loud when the kids are out for break. We just keep our steel piles organized as much as we can. It’s a lot of heavy lifting every morning. Sometimes the dust from the road gets everywhere, but that’s just how it is out here. My brother and I manage most of the loading. People stop in because they saw the sign while driving to Satara. The yard isn't fancy, just a big open space with a small office cabin where we keep the records. We’ve seen the road change a bit over the years, more traffic now than before. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we usually take a bit of a break around then. The school bell is basically our clock for the day. If you’re coming from the main road, you can’t really miss us. We don’t have any big corporate setup, just the stacks of metal and the crane. Most days are just spent moving bundles from one side to the other. It’s honest work, even if the grease never really comes off your hands. We keep the gate open early and stay until the sun starts going down behind the hills.
