We’ve been over here at 251 Palace Street in Satara for a while now. It's an old part of Bhawani Peth, so the neighborhood has a lot of history and character. People usually stop by the shop just to look at what we have on the shelves. It's mostly about traditional crafts and things that look natural, which is why we went with the name Rustic Art. We spend most of our days dealing with local materials and finishing up different pieces by hand. Sometimes the shop gets a bit dusty because of all the street traffic outside, but that’s just how it is around here. It isn't a huge place, just a simple spot where we work and sell things to whoever walks in through the door. We don't have a big fancy office or any of that corporate stuff. It’s just us and the items we make or find. Satara is a nice place to live and work, though it gets quite hot in the summers. We know most of the neighbors by name and they often pop in for a quick chat or to borrow a tool. The building we are in has its own quirks, like the old heavy doors and the way the light comes in during the late afternoon. If you’re ever walking near Bhawani Peth, you’ll probably see our sign hanging out front. We don't do much advertising, we just keep the doors open and stay busy. It's a quiet life and we like it that way.
