Setting up shop at Plot No. L-25 in the Addl. Midc area was a big move for us. It’s an industrial zone, so there is always a lot of noise and activity going on around our unit. We do engineering work, mostly focused on parts and mechanical things that other local businesses need. It isn't the cleanest job in the world, but we enjoy the challenge of fixing things or making a part fit exactly right. The shop floor is usually covered in metal shavings and there is always a faint smell of oil in the air. We spend most of our hours here, sometimes working late into the evening when a project is running behind. We aren't a huge firm with hundreds of people. It’s a small team of us who know the machines inside out. We don't have a big front office or a dedicated person to answer the phones every second. Usually, if the phone rings, one of us has to wipe our hands on a rag before picking it up. Being in the Midc makes sense because we are close to our suppliers and other workshops. We have seen the area grow over the years. We just keep our heads down and do the work that comes in. It is not about being the biggest, just about making sure the machines keep running properly. Sometimes the weather gets really hot in the shed, but we just get on with it. It is what we do.
