About Nature Conservation Foundation – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in Satara
We’re over at Mash Plot No. 51 in Malharnagar, which is right near the Ahilyabai Holkar Chwk in Satara. Nature Conservation Foundation is basically just a few of us trying to keep our town a bit greener than it is now. It's a small spot in Gut No. 80 where we keep our tools and all the seedlings we’re trying to grow. Most days, you’ll find us out in the dirt with shovels rather than sitting behind a desk in an office. We aren't experts with degrees, just regular people who noticed the trees were disappearing and the local spots were getting covered in trash. It’s a lot of physical work, and it gets really tough when the Satara weather gets hot in the afternoons. Sometimes we get a group together for a big cleanup, and other days it’s just one of us going out to water what we planted last month. People walk by the Chwk and see us working. They might stop for a quick chat or ask what kind of tree we’re putting in. We don’t have a big budget at all, so we mostly use what we can find or what people donate. The office gets a bit messy with all the bags of soil and old tools lying around. We just want the area to look a bit better for our kids and the next generation. It’s not a corporate thing; it’s just a Satara thing. We do what we can with our time.
