Matoshree Chhaya Valappa Galavefoundation

We are based out of house number 246 in Galve-Wadi. It’s a small place in the Atpadi taluka of Sangli district. Most of us here know Shrivalappa Shrimant Galave, and that’s whose place we use for the Matoshree Chhaya Valappa Galavefoundation. The roads around here can get a bit dusty when the wind picks up, but it is home. We spend a lot of time sitting in the front room talking to whoever stops by. Sangli is a quiet area mostly. We grew up around these parts so we know the people. Life moves a bit slower in the wadi than it does in the big cities. We don't have a fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. It is just a regular house where we keep our papers and meet up. Sometimes the neighbors come over for tea and we end up talking about what needs doing in the village. It is pretty much a family-run thing with a few friends helping out. We started this because we wanted to be active right here where we live. You can find us easily if you ask for the Galave house. We don’t really do much advertising. People just know where we are. It gets hot in the summers, so we usually get our work done early in the morning before the sun gets too high. That is how it goes for us.
