D. M. Communication

You’ll find D. M. Communication over in Chahur Colony, specifically at 133 Krishna Nagar. We’re pretty close to the Ganesh Mandir, which is a good landmark for people who haven't been to this part of the colony before. The shop is usually a bit of a hub for people needing to get things fixed or just asking about phone plans. We’ve got a small counter and a couple of stools for customers to sit on while they wait. It’s not a big corporate store, just a local spot where we know most people by name. The walls are covered with posters and some shelves with various gadgets and parts. We spend a lot of time hunched over small screens and wires, trying to figure out why something stopped working. It’s quiet work mostly, interrupted by the occasional temple bell or someone calling out from the street. We don’t put on any acts here; we just tell people what can be fixed and what can’t. Sometimes we stay late when a job is tougher than we thought. It’s just the two of us running things, so we handle everything from cleaning the floor to doing the accounts. It’s a decent life, and we like being part of the neighborhood. People trust us to be honest about their tech, and that’s basically all we aim for every day we open up the shutters. It feels good to solve a problem for a neighbor and see them walk out happy.
