Canara Electrical Co.

Canara Electrical Co. is located at J 13/11 in the Add. MIDC area. We are right near the Spicer India plant, which is the big landmark everyone uses to find us. It’s an industrial neighborhood, so there are always heavy trucks and workers in uniforms walking around. Our shop is mostly filled with electrical components, wires, and tools. It’s not organized for looks; it’s organized so we can find what we need quickly. We deal with a lot of industrial electrical needs, and the work can be quite repetitive but it requires a lot of attention. The building is a basic shed-style structure that gets quite warm in the summer months. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things lively while we work on the panels or sort through the inventory. We aren't a big corporation with layers of management. If there's a problem, we just stand around the workbench and figure it out together. Being in the MIDC means we are surrounded by other shops and factories, so there's a bit of a community feel among the workers here. We grab tea at the same stall every morning before starting the shift. It’s just a regular electrical business where we try to get the orders right and keep the equipment running without making a big deal about it.
