We are based out of House No. 5 on the ground floor of Devki Apartment. You know how Zirakpur gets really busy and loud these days? Well, we wanted to do something quiet for the people living around Gurdev Nagar. It is mostly just us neighbors getting together. We handle things as they come up. If someone needs clothes or help with a small problem, they just knock on the door. It isn't a big operation with desks and computers everywhere. Our space is small, but it works for what we do. We spend a lot of time talking to the folks who live nearby to see who is struggling. Sometimes we organize a small drive for old books or blankets during the winter months. It gets really chilly here. We don't have a huge budget or anything like that. We just pool what we have in our pockets. It is a bit messy sometimes with all the boxes of stuff we collect. People in the apartment complex are usually pretty good about helping out when we ask. We try to stay focused on the immediate area because there is enough to do right here. Life in Zirakpur is fast, so we try to slow down a bit. We aren't experts, just people trying to be useful. If you see us at Devki Apartment, feel free to say hello. We are usually around in the evenings after regular work is done. It feels right to give back a little bit to the community we live in. We often share tea and talk about making the street safer.
