Sri Tirumala Cottage Industry

We operate out of Almasguda, specifically at Plot No 328 and 329. It is quite a bit of space since we took over two plots. We have been in Survey Nos 126 and 127 for years. This is a cottage industry, so it is mostly manual work. My family stays nearby and we spend most of our day here. We make various small items. The workshop is always full of materials and half-finished pieces. Sometimes it looks like a mess to an outsider but we know where everything is. It is not a high-tech factory. We use our hands and some basic tools mostly. The weather affects us a lot because the roof gets very hot in the summer. We have a few local ladies who come in to help with the packing. It is a steady job for them. Almasguda is growing fast, more houses are coming up around us now. Sometimes the delivery trucks have trouble finding the exact lane because the numbers are confusing. We just tell them to look for the big blue gate. We do not spend money on advertising or anything like that. Word of mouth works well enough for us. If someone needs something, they just come by the gate and ask. We try to keep things simple and honest. It is a lot of hours but it is our own thing. We usually close up when the sun goes down and go home.
