Our place is located right near the railway station here in Sardarshahar. It is a convenient spot in Churu district because the trains are always passing by and it makes it easy for people to find us. We deal with different types of stone every day. It started out small, just a few of us working together to supply materials to the local builders and families around the taluka. The yard gets pretty busy when a new shipment comes in. We spend a lot of time moving heavy pieces around and making sure everything is organized. It’s not a glamorous job, but it is steady. We see a lot of people coming through who are building their first homes and they need something that looks decent and fits their budget. We don’t go for the high-end corporate style here. We just talk to people plainly and show them what is available in the yard. Sometimes the weather in Churu gets really tough, either too hot or too cold, but we keep the doors open anyway. We've been at this location for some time now and most people in the neighborhood know where to find us. It’s just a basic stone yard where we try to be helpful and get the orders out on time. If you’re walking over from the station, you can’t really miss the stacks of stone piled up near the entrance. We are just local people doing our bit.
