About Sanghamitra Social Research Foundation – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in Saran
Sanghamitra Social Research Foundation is located at Lalan Ray’s house in Jahangirpur. This is out in the Baniapur block of Saran district. If you are looking for us, you usually have to ask someone for the Jahangirpur Tola. It is a small settlement where everyone is pretty much involved in everyone else’s business. We do our research and our social work right from this village setting. It is certainly not a high-tech laboratory or a polished office. It is mostly just us sitting down with the villagers, taking notes in our journals, and trying to get a real sense of what the local needs are. The atmosphere is very quiet and peaceful compared to the nearby towns. You can often hear the cows and the sounds of people working in the fields while we are busy with our paperwork. We do not have a big budget for expensive things, so we use old wooden desks and keep all our files in simple steel almirahs. People from the Panch-Karhi area often stop by just to chat or see what we are working on. We are not here to sell anything to anyone. We just want to gather the facts and help out where it is actually needed. Saran is a place with a lot of history, and we feel like a small part of that. Our foundation is small, but we take the work we do quite seriously. We do not have a team of secretaries or a fancy website. It is just a ground-level operation.
