Om Rudra Marble

Om Rudra Marble is located in Ward No. 11 on New Station Road here in Mashrakh. We’ve been in this part of the taluka for quite a while. The road gets pretty busy since it leads toward the station, so there's always something going on outside. We deal mostly in marble slabs and some granite. It’s a lot of physical labor, moving those heavy pieces around so people can see the grain and color. We don't have a glossy brochure. If you want to see what we have, you just come to the yard and we’ll move some slabs for you. It’s a bit messy sometimes, especially when it rains and the ground gets muddy, but that’s the marble business for you. We are just local people working here. My neighbor’s son helps out during his break. We don't use any complicated systems. We write things down in a ledger and keep track of who needs what. Most of our business comes from people in Mashrakh or the nearby villages. They know we are on New Station Road and just drop by when they are ready to build. We don't try to push anyone into buying. We just show the stone, tell them the price per foot, and let them decide. It’s a very basic setup. A small office, a big open space for the stone, and a lot of hard work. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but we’re still here doing the same thing every day. It’s what we know. It keeps us grounded.
