Laxmi Honey Centre

Laxmi Honey Centre is located out in Tarma Kalwari, which is a part of the Kanti area. Working with honey is a bit of a messy business, but we have gotten used to the sticky jars and the smell of wax over the years. We spend a lot of time out in the fields or checking on the storage. It is a very quiet part of the district, and most of the people who come to see us are locals from the nearby villages. We don't have a big store with bright lights; it is more of a practical place where we process the honey and get it ready. The seasons really dictate how much work we have to do. When the flowers are blooming, things get very busy for us. We just focus on getting the honey into the containers without making too much of a mess. Sometimes the road to Tarma Kalwari can be a bit rough after the rains, but we still manage to get our supplies moved around. My family helps out with the labeling and moving the heavy crates. We don't really do much advertising because people around here already know where we are and what we have available. It is honest work and it keeps us busy throughout the year. If you walk past the center, you can usually smell the sweetness from the road. We keep our tools simple and try to maintain a steady pace every day without rushing things too much or worrying about the latest trends.
