Our shop is number 25 in the Keela Market area of Siwan. If you’re coming out of the Siwan Railway Station, we’re right there across from it. It’s a very loud and busy part of town. There’s always the sound of train whistles and people shouting in the market. We’ve been here for a good bit of time now. The shop is small and can get quite crowded, especially when a train has just arrived. We see people from all over the country who are just passing through. It’s not a quiet place to sit and read, but it’s a good place to see the world go by. We have some regular customers from the market who come in every morning before they open their own stalls. The building itself is old, like most of the market. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so much foot traffic, it’s a constant job. There’s no fancy air conditioning or velvet chairs here. It’s just a basic cafe where you can get a hot drink. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use candles, which the customers seem to find funny. We just like being in the middle of all the action. The railway station keeps us on our toes because there’s never a dull moment. It’s a hard-working spot in a hard-working town. The tea shop next door makes a lot of noise with their spoons, but we don't mind much.
