Omi Memorial Public School

Omi Memorial Public School is located on Machia Road. If you are coming from the main part of town, we are quite near the Govt High School, so it is easy to find. We are out here in the Saraikela Kharasawa district. The school has been part of this community for some time. We have kids coming in from the nearby villages and the local area. The road gets a bit dusty in the summer, but the school stays fairly cool inside. We have a playground where the students spend their breaks. It is nothing too fancy, just some open space and a few trees for shade. Our classrooms are filled with wooden benches and blackboards. The teachers here live mostly nearby, so they know the families well. We try to keep a steady routine every day. Lessons start early and we finish up by the afternoon. Often, you will see the older kids walking home together along Machia Road. We don't have a big office or anything, just a small room where we keep the records and meet parents. Sometimes the power goes out, but we just carry on with the lessons anyway. It is a quiet place for the most part, except during recess. We just focus on giving the children a place to learn their subjects and grow up in a safe environment. It is a lot of hard work for the staff but it feels right to be here.
