Even though our name mentions Giridih, this specific site is actually located at the 220 K.V. Grid S/S in Chandil. We are out in the Bhadudih area of the Saraikela-Kharshawan district in Jharkhand. The pin code is 832401. It’s a bit of a remote location compared to the main town. Being near a massive power grid means there’s always a hum in the air and a lot of high-voltage equipment around. It’s a serious environment where you have to watch where you step. We spend a lot of our time outdoors or in the sheds. The landscape out here is quite open, and you can see for miles when the weather is clear. We have a small crew that stays on-site to keep things running. It’s a long way from the nearest big market, so we have to be organized about bringing in our supplies. The roads can be a bit bumpy, especially after the monsoon rains hit Jharkhand.
