We are located in the Adamji Building, specifically room 505 at 413, No. 37 in the Masjid area. It’s an old building with a lot of history. The elevator is a bit slow and sometimes it makes a funny noise, so we often just take the stairs. Our office is filled with ledgers and stacks of import documents. It’s a busy part of town with lots of carts and people moving goods all day. We spend most of our time on the phone or checking emails about shipments coming into the port. There is always a lot of dust from the street, so we have to wipe the desks down every morning. We don’t have a fancy setup. Just some basic computers and a lot of filing folders. Sometimes we get the paperwork wrong and have to start over. It can be frustrating. We know the other people in the building pretty well. We share news about the shipping rates and the weather. The tea guy comes by twice a day, which is the highlight for some of us. We’ve been doing this for a long time. It’s just steady work. No big corporate meetings here, just us figuring out how to get things from one place to another. We keep a calendar on the wall marked with all the holidays so we know when the docks are closed.
