The Rug Centre

The Rug Centre is located inside Harishchandra Bhawan, which you can find in the Hanuman Bagh section of the city. We are situated right where Mirzapur Road and Aurai Road meet, so it is a bit of a busy corner. We use P.O. Box 92 for all our official letters and mail. Harishchandra Bhawan is an older building with a lot of stairs and some narrow hallways that are usually filled with rugs waiting to be moved. We do not have a polished showroom with bright spotlights. Instead, we just use the natural light from the windows to show people the colors and textures of what we have in stock. It can be a bit of a maze inside because we have so many rugs tucked into every available corner and shelf. The people who work here usually end up with a bit of lint and dust on their clothes, but they know every single piece we have in the building. Being near the junction of Aurai Road means we see a lot of people passing through the area. We are not interested in being some big corporate entity with fancy offices. We just like the rugs and the daily work of sorting through them. Sometimes we spend hours just rearranging the stacks to make room for a new shipment coming in from the weavers. It is a very simple, practical way of doing things, and that is how we like it.
