Peerless Carpet Palace

You can find Peerless Carpet Palace over in Abhiyanpur on Chauri Road. This area is known for carpets, so we fit right in. Our building is an old one, and it is filled with rugs from the floor to the ceiling. It can get pretty dusty inside because of all the wool and materials, but that is part of the job. We don't have any salespeople in suits here. It’s usually just us in our regular clothes, moving heavy stacks of carpets around so people can see the patterns. Chauri Road is always busy with traffic and people, which keeps things interesting. Sometimes the light in the shop isn't great, so we have to take the carpets outside to the front to show the colors properly. We don't do any big advertisements. People usually just hear about us from their neighbors or see the sign when they are driving through Abhiyanpur. The work is physical and tiring, especially when a new shipment comes in from the weavers and we have to unload everything by hand. We’ve been in this same spot for a long time. The roof has a small leak when it rains really hard, but we know where to put the buckets so the stock stays dry. We just focus on keeping the inventory moving and making sure the carpets stay clean. It is a simple way of living and working for us.
