About Ranchhodray Traders – Agriculture & Farming in Sankheda
Down at Sankheda Opera House 41, you’ll find Ranchhodray Traders. It’s mostly a lot of heavy lifting and keeping track of what is coming in and what is going out. We deal with various goods, and the inventory changes depending on the week. The building has that old smell of dust and burlap bags. I spend a good part of my morning checking the ledgers and making sure the counts are right. It’s easy to lose track when you’re busy talking to drivers or trying to get a load organized for shipping. The Opera House area is always busy, so there’s a lot of shouting and horns honking right outside our door. We have a small desk tucked into the corner where the phone usually rings off the hook. Most of the people we deal with are other traders or local shopkeepers who need supplies. We don't have a big showroom; it’s more of a warehouse feel where things move fast. Sometimes we run out of space and have to stack things out on the sidewalk for a bit until the truck arrives. It can be stressful when everyone wants their delivery at the same time, but we just take it one order at a time. By the end of the day, the floor is usually covered in bits of string and paper, and we’re ready to close up. It’s just how the business works here, and we keep at it every day.
