We’ve been over here on Palapattu Road for a while now. It’s just us making bricks every day at S E P Solid Bricks Company Pvt Ltd. Most days we are busy with the machines or loading up the trucks for local builders. It’s hard work, but we like being part of how the town grows. The yard is usually dusty, especially in the dry months, but that’s just how it goes when you’re making building materials. People know where we are at number 87. We don’t really do much fancy stuff, just solid bricks that do the job. My father used to say that a good brick doesn’t need a lot of talking, it just needs to sit right in the wall. Sometimes the weather makes things slow, but we keep at it. If you walk down the road, you'll see the stacks piled up high near the gate. We’ve seen a lot of houses go up using what we make here. It makes us feel good to drive by a new place and know those are our bricks holding up the roof. We aren’t a huge office with lots of desks. Usually, you’ll find one of us near the kiln or checking the clay quality. It's a simple life, really. We just focus on getting the mix right so the bricks don't crack. Most of our neighbors know us by name. We just try to be fair and get the work done before the sun goes down.
