Farmer & Co

We are at 64, right near the sugar mill. Because we are so close to the mill, the whole area has a specific smell of burnt cane and earth that you never really get out of your clothes no matter how much you wash them. The building at number 64 is quite old and has a lot of character, which is a nice way of saying the roof leaks a little when it rains really hard. We have a few large rooms where we do all our business. It is mostly a place for keeping track of the loads coming in and out from the local farms. We wear heavy boots because the ground around here is always churned up by the tractor tires and gets very muddy. It is not a clean or quiet job. There is always the thumping sound of the machinery from the mill nearby. We don't have any fancy office equipment. We use old desks and we sit on chairs that creak every time you move. The workers here are used to the long hours, especially during the peak harvest time when the mill is running twenty-four hours a day. We don't have a website or any advertisements. We just rely on the fact that we have been at this spot by the mill for a long time. Everyone in the agricultural community knows where to find us. We just keep our heads down and do the work that is in front of us. That is how it has always been for us.
