Guru Stickers

Our shop, Guru Stickers, is located at Plot No. 35-J on Geethalaya Road. We are right near the Geethalaya Theatre in Sankarankovil. It’s a good spot because people always walk past on their way to the movies or the market. We spend most of our time at the computer or standing over the cutting plotter. There’s always a pile of vinyl scraps in the corner that we mean to throw away but never quite get to. The machines have a specific hum that you get used to after a while. If the blade gets dull, we have to stop everything and change it, which slows us down and is a bit of a pain. We do all sorts of stickers, from small ones for motorbikes to bigger stuff for windows. It’s a small shop, and sometimes it gets quite hot in the middle of the day. We have a small fan that helps a bit, but it mostly just moves the warm air around. People come in with ideas written on scraps of paper, and we try our best to make it look like they want. Sometimes the colors don't come out perfect on the first try, so we have to do it again. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in town, just a place that does the job. When the movie ends at the theater, it gets really busy for a few minutes while people wander in. Then it goes back to being quiet and we finish our work before the sun sets for the day.
