Vinod Ice Cream

We are located on Geeta Bhavan Road, right in the middle of Balmiki Basti in Sunam. It’s a quiet enough area most days, filled with people who have lived here their whole lives. Our shop is just a basic setup. We have the freezers along one wall and a small wooden desk where we keep the books. It’s not a place with a lot of flash. We’ve got a simple bulb hanging from the ceiling and some old posters on the wall that have started to fade. Running this shop is mostly about routine. I arrive, check the stock, and make sure the machines are humming along like they should. If a compressor sounds weird, I have to call the repairman right away. You can’t take risks with ice cream in this heat. We see the same faces every day. The school kids come by in the afternoon, and the older folks usually show up after their evening walk. We don't have a huge variety of flavors, just the local favorites that we know will sell. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. Word of mouth is how people know we are here. Sometimes we sit outside on plastic chairs when it’s slow and just chat with the neighbors passing by. It’s a slow pace of life, but it suits us. We just focus on keeping the ice cream frozen and the customers treated fairly. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to hope for the best.
