Sukara Foods is located in the village at Post Handiaya. It is a very small place and everybody knows everyone else around here. We are right near the Post Office, which is the main landmark for anyone coming from out of town. The air is different out here in the village than it is in the city. We do most of our food prep in the back of the building. It’s a simple setup with big pots and long tables for packing the items. We try to keep things clean and tidy, but it's a working kitchen so there’s always something going on. The post office workers usually come over for a chat when they are on their break. Handiaya is a quiet spot, and we like it that way. We don't have a lot of fancy machines; a lot of the work is still done by hand. Sometimes the rain makes the road a bit muddy, which can be a real problem for the delivery trucks. We just deal with it as it comes. It’s a local business through and through. We get our ingredients from nearby when we can. The building is just a plain concrete structure, nothing special to look at from the outside. But inside, we are always moving and getting things ready for the customers who depend on us. It’s a lot of work to run Sukara Foods from a small village, but we manage just fine.
