Sthai Welfare Foundation is tucked away in Mishra Colony, just behind the Shamshan Ghat in Bhawani Garh. It might sound like a strange landmark to some, but everyone in this part of Sangrur knows exactly where that is. Our setup is pretty basic because we prefer to spend what we have on the work rather than on a fancy office. Being in Bhawani Garh means we are close to the people we serve. We see them every day at the market or on the street. Our team is small, mostly just a few locals who decided that complaining about things wasn't enough. We wanted to actually get our hands dirty. Sometimes the office is a bit cramped and the paperwork piles up on the old wooden desk, but we don't mind much. We talk to people about their needs and try to find ways to support the community without making a big deal out of it. It’s just how things are done here in Punjab. We don't have a corporate structure or any of that. If something needs fixing or someone needs help, we just try to get it done. It's a simple way of living and working. We’ve been in Mishra Colony for a while now and the neighbors know they can knock on our door anytime they need us. We might not have much, but we share what we can to keep the town moving.
