Shri Ram Steels

Over at Shri Ram Steels, our location is near the Naudharni Railway Crossing in the Sangrur district. You can hear the trains passing by pretty often, which is something you just get used to after a few days of working here. Being near the crossing means there is always a bit of a wait when the gates are down, but it’s a good spot for a business like ours. Sangrur is a place with a lot of movement, and we are right in the middle of it. Our site is mostly used for storing and moving steel, so it is quite a rugged environment. There is plenty of metal around and the sound of heavy things being moved is the soundtrack to our day. We don't have a polished office; it’s more of a practical space where we can keep an eye on everything. We spend a lot of time outside or in the shed, checking the stock and talking to the drivers. It’s hard work and it can get very dusty, especially when the wind picks up across the plains. We don’t really do anything flashy. We just make sure the steel goes where it needs to go. It’s a straightforward job that requires some muscle and a bit of patience. We’ve been at this spot for a while now and the locals know the way. We close up when the sun starts to set over the tracks.
