Kalsi Marbles

Kalsi Marbles is right on Pohir Road in Malerkotla. The bus stand is a close neighbor, which makes us easy to find for anyone traveling into town. Time has changed the area around the bus stand quite a bit, but we have stayed in this same spot. Our yard holds all the marble and stone slabs we have for sale. It is an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it works for us. Lights and fancy showrooms are not part of our setup; we just keep the stone out where you can see it in the natural light. My brother and I run the place ourselves, along with a few helpers for the heavy lifting. Marble is heavy stuff, and you have to be careful not to break anything while moving it. Moving slabs takes up most of our day, along with talking to folks who come in from the nearby villages. Marketing tricks do not happen here. We just tell people the truth about the different types of stone and what might work for their specific house projects. Sometimes we sit and have a cup of tea with the customers while they look around. It is a very local, down-to-earth kind of place. We just want to keep the business going and help our neighbors get their homes built. It is simple work, but it keeps us busy from morning until evening.
