This is Gurpreet Singh’s place for CCTV cameras. We are located in Bhawanigarh, very close to the Truck Union. Because of the trucks, there is always a lot of dust and noise around the shop. You can hear the big engines idling and the drivers talking all day. Our shop is just a simple room with shelves full of cameras and DVR boxes. There is usually a ladder leaning against the wall and some tool bags on the floor. Gurpreet stays busy going from one site to another. We do the work ourselves, from drilling holes to setting up the monitors. It is dusty work and our clothes often get dirty by the end of the day. We do not have a receptionist or anything like that. If the phone rings, whoever is free picks it up. We mostly work with the shop owners and homeowners around Bhawanigarh who want to keep an eye on their property. We do not make big promises, we just show up and put the cameras where they are needed. It is a practical business. We drink tea from the local dhaba while we plan our next job. Being near the Truck Union means there is always someone moving, and we are just part of that busy atmosphere. We keep things moving and make sure the jobs get finished before the sun goes down.
