You can find Goyal Shefali Architect at B-I-455A in Indira Basti. It’s a pretty straightforward spot without any big signs or flashing lights to lead the way. Shefali started working from this location because it was close to where things were actually happening in the neighborhood. The office itself is just a couple of rooms where we keep our computers and all the rolls of tracing paper. It gets a bit hot in the summer because the sun hits the front window directly for most of the afternoon, but we have a ceiling fan that keeps the air moving well enough. We aren't doing any high-rise skyscrapers or anything like that, mostly just helping local folks with their home additions or small renovations. We spend a lot of time talking to the workers on site to make sure they aren't putting the windows in the wrong place. Sometimes we have to draw things out three or four times before the layout looks right to everyone involved. There’s a small tea stall just down the road and we end up there at least twice a day to clear our heads. The main desk is usually a mess of rulers and pencils and empty cups. We don't worry too much about looking polished or professional in the corporate sense. We just want to make sure the walls are straight and the roof doesn't leak when it rains. It’s just honest work done by hand most of the time.
