Goyal Gaurav Architect

Goyal Gaurav Architect is our small office over on Geeta Bhawan Road inside the Joshi Market area of Sunam. It is a pretty busy spot and you can always hear the sounds of the street coming through the walls throughout the day. Gaurav is usually at his desk which is almost always buried under piles of papers, old blueprints, and half-eaten snacks from the morning. We have been here for a good while and the place has a worn-in feel that you can’t really fake. The walls are a bit stained from the damp and the floor has some scuff marks from all the boots coming in and out from building sites. We don’t have a fancy waiting room or anyone to greet you at the door when you walk in. If you come by, you just find a chair and wait a minute until one of us looks up from whatever we are doing. We spend our days mostly drawing up plans and arguing over where a wall should go or how to save a bit of space in a small room. The tea guy comes by every hour or so, and that is usually the highlight of our morning. We don't use any big words or try to impress anyone with fancy talk here. We just focus on the drawings and making sure the measurements are right so the builders don't get angry at us later. It is a lot of looking at computer screens and then going out to dusty plots of land to see how things are moving.
