Easy Shopping

We’ve been here at the Old Grain Market in Dhuri for a while now. It gets pretty loud outside with the tractors and the people moving sacks around all morning. If you know this part of town, you know it’s always busy. We just set up shop here to handle whatever folks need when they come through. It’s not a fancy place, mostly just shelves and us trying to keep things organized. Sometimes the dust from the grain market gets in, so we’re always dusting things off. My brother and I usually open up early before the sun gets too hot. People come in looking for everyday stuff. We don't have everything, but we try to keep the basics in stock. It’s a small space, really. You have to watch your step because we stack things in the corners when the new stock arrives. The tea stall next door is where we spend most of our breaks. We’ve seen the market change over the years, more cars now than before. It used to be mostly carts. We just keep doing our thing, day in and day out. If you’re passing by the Old Grain Market, you’ll see our sign. It’s a bit faded now but it still works. We don't do much fancy talk, we just sell what we have and go home when the market shuts down for the evening. It's a decent living and we know most of the people around here by name. That’s just how it is in Dhuri.
