Ira Fashions

Ira Fashions is located at Lakshmi Nivas on Maruti Mandir Road. Savargaon is a quiet place and our shop fits right in. We spend most of our time around fabrics and sewing machines. Gandhi Nagar has been our home for a while now. The shop isn't very large, so the shelves are usually packed with different materials and half-finished clothes. We sit here and work on whatever the local people bring in. Sometimes it’s just a simple alteration and other times it’s something more complicated. We have the windows open to let the air in while we work. The sound of the machine is the main thing you hear when you walk in. We don’t really do big advertisements. People just walk down Maruti Mandir Road and see us here at Lakshmi Nivas. Sometimes we sit on the porch when there isn't much to do. It’s a small family-run type of thing. We know the names of the people who come in and they know us. The work can be tiring on the eyes after a few hours, but we just take a break and then get back to it. It’s just about making sure the clothes fit right. We don't have any big fashion shows. We just focus on the needles and threads and getting the stitching straight for the neighbors. That’s our daily life here in Savargaon and we like it that way.
