Vikas Clinic

Our clinic is located on Chabra Road in Kawai Salpura, which is part of the Atru Tehsil in the Baran district. It is a bit of a journey to get here if you are coming from the main city, but for the people living in Salpura, we are right where they need us. The building is a simple concrete one-story place. We have a big sign outside, but the paint is starting to peel a bit from the sun. Inside, the rooms are basic. We have a tiled floor that we mop every morning and some wooden benches that have been here since we first opened. Because we are in a more rural area, we see a lot of people who come in after working in the fields all day. It is a quiet place for the most part, except for the sound of the occasional bus or truck going down Chabra Road. We keep a stock of basic medicines and supplies in the back room. The power goes out sometimes, so we have a couple of big torches ready just in case. We do not have a fancy waiting room with air conditioning, just a few fans that spin pretty fast. Most people just sit and chat while they wait their turn. It is a very local way of doing things. We know the families around here and they know us, which makes the work feel like a community service.
