Being out here at Plot No K20/K21 in MIDC Sangli means we are surrounded by a lot of other industrial sheds. Kupwad is a dusty place, especially when the trucks are moving in and out all day. At Skylark Precitech, we spend most of our time inside the unit where it’s a bit more controlled. The work is all about precision, which is funny because the rest of the area feels so rough and tumble. We have these machines that take up most of the floor space, leaving just narrow paths to walk through. It’s a private limited company on paper, but on the ground, it’s just a bunch of us in overalls trying to keep everything running smoothly. The air smells like cutting fluid and metal. We don't have a fancy canteen, so we usually sit together in the small office area to eat our tiffins. Sometimes the power cuts out and we just sit outside for a bit until the generator kicks in or the grid comes back. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. You get dirty, you get tired, and you go home. We’ve been on these plots for a while, and the neighborhood of factories feels like a small village of its own. It’s a repetitive life, but there is something good about seeing a finished part come off the line after hours of setup.
