Site Supervisor

I run things out of Prajoyti Nivas in Sangli. My name is Bipin, and if you come by 16, you’ll probably see me getting ready to head out to a project. Being a site supervisor in this area means you have to know a lot of people and understand how things get done locally. I spend most of my time on my feet, walking through half-finished rooms and making sure the electrical or plumbing is going in right. It's not a clean job, you usually go home with dust on your shoes every night. I don't use big words or have some huge corporate plan. I just look at what needs doing and make sure the guys are doing it. Sangli is a good place to work because people generally want to get things finished. Sometimes the weather doesn't help, or a supplier forgets a load of gravel, so then I have to spend an hour on the phone sorting it out. I’ve lived here a long time, so I know which shortcuts to take and which crews work the hardest. My office is basically my pockets filled with notes and my phone. If a wall is going up, I'm usually there making sure it stays straight. It's just a regular local business, nothing more, nothing less. We just keep the projects moving along as best as we can without making too much of a fuss.
